Maroc Xtreme 2018

Put together by Club Aventura Touareg out of Spain.

Today was Day 2. A shorter but maybe more challenging ride of only 310km. From Merzouga to Zagora Morocco for the second night's bivouac.

The day started with a 40km route through the Saharan dune fields. This was my first time riding in that orange sand and the first time ever riding on dunes like that. The view was incredible. The riding was challenging. I dumped the bike in the sand a few times in the morning. It is a lot different than the sand I am used to riding in Senegal. Looser and finer I think. Temp was cold to start but with the slow pace in the dunes and the hot sun, it warmed up quickly.

We arrived to the bivouac much earlier, maybe around 1700 or 1800. So a nice relief day compared to the grueling 16 hour ride from the day before.

Enjoy!
