Morocco Day Trip from Málaga to Tangier, Part Two | Tangier, Morocco

On the second part of our day trip to Tangier, Morocco from Málaga, Spain, we got a little bit carried away engaging in an important Moroccan cultural tradition: bargaining! We were definitely put in our place as we learned from someone whose job it is to bargain. At least we got a rug out of it?

We also went to a pharmacy where they sold some Moroccan herbs and mixtures. They had saffron, blood cumin, Moroccan oil, Argan oil, and a bunch of others that had very interesting uses. After we managed NOT to buy anything, our guide Mohammed took us to the spot on the northern tip of Africa where the Mediterranean Sea met the Atlantic Sea, and stopped at a sandy spot near Tangier Beach to (watch the other tourists) ride some camels. Our last stop in Morocco was Hercules Cave, an archaeological cave system by the sea.

It was a very full day, and we were exhausted by the time we got back "home" to Málaga. We'd recommend the day trip if what we did piques your interest, but beware that you'll be spending more time travelling and waiting in lines than actually exploring Tangier!
