Discovering Morocco - Imlil Valley to the Agafay Desert

During our travels in Morocco (and mostly because a bad case of food poisoning which led to the cancellation of our Sahara trip) we booked a guided tour to Imlil, a small village at the foothills of the highest mountains in Morocco Jbel Toubkal. Imlil is the center to hire mountain guides and mules due to its unique position. And its connection to several Berber villages and a very popular start point for treks and hikes for climbing Toubkal mountain. We were surprised of the welcoming locals, our guide has even invited us for tea at his gouse, introducing all of us to his family.

The second half of the day trip consisted of visiting the Agafay Desert, a rough, dry, moon-like expanse 40km southwest of Marrakesh down the Route d'Amizmiz.
