The Place Hedim is a large square that divides the Royal area of Meknes from the Medina. Our Explore group was given 30 minutes to walk around on our own. A pittance of time to wander through brief sections of the Medina and do any power shopping let alone investigate the many cafes around the perimeter.

Wonderful looking sweets inside with zillions of bees hovering over them. Goatskin lamp shades in brilliant colors, spices arranged it bright conical shapes, clay tagines and more. Thirty minutes wasn't enough time to investigate even one-tenth of the Medina but the next stop, Volubilis was calling.
